What test levels are available?
JOT offers five levels: JT5 (beginner), JT4 (elementary), JT3 (intermediate), JT2 (upper intermediate), and JT1 (advanced). Each level assesses vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and listening skills appropriate to that proficiency tier.
How is the test conducted?
JOT is a fully computer-based test (CBT). You take it at an authorized test center in Colombo using a desktop computer. The exam uses facial recognition proctoring, randomized question ordering, and automated timing to ensure test integrity.
How long does it take to receive results?
Results are typically available within 24 hours of completing the exam. You will receive a notification via email with a link to view and download your official score report and certificate.
What documents do I need to bring on test day?
You must bring your National Identity Card (NIC) or passport. The photo ID will be verified against the facial recognition system at the test center. No additional materials, electronic devices, or stationery are permitted in the examination room.
Can I retake the test if I am not satisfied with my score?
